It depends on what test it is. Drug tests don't just look for drugs in the abstract. They try to detect certain chemicals. I've taken a drug test for probation (like from "the law") and it tested for THC (weed), cocaine and meth since these are the most commonly abused substances. Also, I wouldn't worry about prescription drugs like vicodin or oxycontin. And there is no way they'd test for over the counter drugs since they cannot find out how much of a drug you take (like whether you're abusing it) only that you've taken it. Usually drug tests will not look for anything besides the most common drugs, but they could buy tests for specific drugs if they had a reason to believe you were abusing them.
A basic drug test is just looking for illegal substances, and I'd say they're pretty much always just THC, coke, and meth. It's possible they'd look for herion or other opiates, but I doubt it.

Usually no. Drug tests look for specific illegal narcotics in your system. Only if a person is suspected of illegally using prescribed drugs will they run the desired test for that drug.

Depending on the test, and the medicication. You also have to becareful of what you eat. Poppy seeds can make you come up positive on a drug test. When I was in a half-way house they had me sign papers stating that I would not eat poppy seeds.

Be careful of Benzodiazapam's also. I was checked for them also and you'd probably be too.
