well i put it on my whole body sometimes when i run out of lotion, lotions are so expensive to get the good stuff...but my question is, is vaseline bad for your face?? i usually put on a thin layer at night befor going to sleep...so most of it comes off on the pillow, but i hear its going to clog my pores, but if i use a lotion or something, it just doesnt do what vaseline does! i wash my face every morning...

My gorgeous mother who has absolutely amazing overall skin from head to toe has been using Vaseline to remove her makeup, to massage it off, the tissue it off, to remassage with it moisturizes with it...she swears by it and her skin is incredibly young and smooth, not textured, dry or leathery. She doesn't have beef jerky, catcher's mitt skin. And she's been doing this whole Vaseline bit for nearly five decades. Thank the Sweet Baby Jesus that "Nursery" Vaseline came out cuz before then, ooohhweeee, that stuff smelled! Vaseline rules!

Vaseline can be great for your skin if used in the correct way, for example dabbing on your lips when they are dry. But it you have an area of dry skin, I would suggest a moisturiser of some sort to sooth the area instead because Vaseline tends to block the pores and hence maybe causing break outs, like your friend said. I suggest using creams like E45, dermol cream, aveeno, sudocrem and other creams specified for dry skin.

Ok, I love vaseline. I have it on my face right now. I am 30 years old and I get asked for id at the gas station. Im telling you it works really good. Just dont use to much. I was reading up on it and they say to use it right after you get out of the shower when you still have water on your face. They also say to mix it with a little water. It hasnt clogged my pores. I first apply vaseline and then i mix it with ponds. I apply a little to my eye area and forehead because i sometimes have lines on my forehead. Good luck!

I thought only boxer's put it on thier face. Seriously.
I would have assumed it would cause you skin to not breathe well, but it sounds like it depends on the person. I'd be concerned about the mess on my pillow if I had Vasaline on my face at night, but besides that use what works for you. I use the Vasaline brand lotion if I have a dry spot, which happens here in Alaska. It snowed yesterday!

My Great Aunt swore by it especially for the knees and elbows. I use it to remove my eye make-up, and before I go to bed a apply a thin layer on my legs and feet with PJ's and socks on. I love it. It's cheap and it's the best for my feet!!!! Maybe I should try rubbing it into my neck this winter. I would keep doing what your doing until you notice something that you don't like.

I've heard of people putting on vaseline on their faces when it's cold. I don't know whether it's good or bad though, possibly check their Web site.

If its working for you, keep using it! You would know after the first time if you were going to have a problem with it. Don't worry about it =)

Vaseline is Petroleum which is a chemical. It is not good for your face, it does clog your pores and is a product that actually prevents your skin from breathing.
Keep trying different products to find the results that you desire; but please stay away from Vaseline. Hugs! Nana
