The HIV virus does not seem to be a natural virus. It seems to be a man made retrovirus. If so, who could've possibly invented it? The HIV pandemic is less than 37 years old, which leads me to theorize that it was not naturally created, but possibly created by some kind of mad scientist or sick psycho. I would appreciate your help and your answers. Thank you.

Perhaps it is a natural disease but was misdiagnosed as something else years ago.

No one "invented" the HIV virus. Yes it was brought into public light less then 37 yrs ago but that does not mean it wasnt around for longer then that just no one knew what to call it. Also there are millions upon millions of virus-disease out there that are so rare that when dr's stumble across them they are at a loss at how to treat until it becomes more prevalent and research must be done to find a way to treat the patients. There are many theories on the HIV virus I remember in the 80s people were so paranoid they could get it from using a toilet or a pay phone that someone with the infection used. Many thought if you ate in a restaurant and used the same fork even though washed you could get it. Its an STD where it came from we do not know, for all we know it can date to biblical times or it could have mutated from another disease/virus. Where did leprosy come from? Or cancer? or autism for that matter? No one knows where it came from, we just know or are learning how to treat it. All of which I think come from mutated cells within the human body

I'd also like to add that this is not a gay disease as many of the people responding are claiming. A disease does not pick a sexuality. In fact I think the reason people assumed it was a "gay" disease is because the highest profiled cases where those of homosexual men. Heterosexuals have the highest rate of HIV and AIDS

Remember last years bird flu scare. The virus was present in birds (chickens) and there was a fear that it would cross the line into humans if it mutated. Then it would be transmitted between humans the same way any other flu strain is. The AIDS virus did that many years ago when it moved from the monkey population (which were used for food and pets), and then was transmitted between humans with the exchange of body fluids (sex - needles - but it had to be contact with the blood, not just sneezing). Viruses mutate constantly - new flu stain each year and a virus can lay dormant in your system and resurface as a different disease (chicken pox to shingles)

There are actually several conspiracies for the HIV virus and one of them theorizes that its actually an engineered or modified virus. However the theory's backbone also says that the HIV virus is supposed to wipe out poor people for "inferior" people from the face of the map.
Vaccines are being developed. Sure drug companies are making tons of money from medicines right now but there's no reason for them not to make a vaccine for HIV. The motivation? money of course. HIV is a lifelong disease, they'd make tons of money especially the company who can get first dibs on a vaccine.

FYI the official explanation for HIV is that it was originally the SIV (simian immunodeficiency virus)- that is that it was a HIV virus that inflicted primates.
A lot of monkeys in Africa, it would be only natural for SIV to progress to HIV because of some close contact with humans. There are a lot of crazy theories for HIV trust me bud, but really back when HIV popped out we were experimenting with chemicals and there was still a lot of research to be done when it comes to modifying viruses as they can now today.

I do not think so. HIV has been traced back to infected monkeys in Africa, and the virus mutated and transferred to humans by way of Africans who ate infected monkey meat. I am quite serious and not trying to be silly or funny.

It is actually quite possible for it to be a natural disease.
Diseases, bugs, viruses, and bacteria are dynamic. They can comstantly change to adapt to their environment so they are better suited and have a better chance for survival.

Now you may say: "But it wasn't around before, and nothing similar to it was either."

That is possibly true, but think of it this way.

A long time ago, there were not many humans.
They began to muliply.
As they multiply more and more of them are having sex.
the more the quantity having sex, the greater the chance of catching a virus and having it evolve.

It is also possible to be man made.

No real clear origin for HIV, unfortunately.

People believe the HIV virus was created by the US government to wipe out homosexuals. Anyone who knows the history of the virus has heard about the guy having intercourse with some monkey in Africa and contracting it that way.

Throughout history a lot of new viruses have discovered. It is something of a mystery how the come about, but it just shows how clever they are at mutating. Nature makes much better viruses than man can.

it wasn't invented. It was actually first discovered first in a british sailor mid 50's. Check the "go red" website or whatever it's called, they have a huge ongoing campaign w/ plenty of history and other info
