There is nothing wrong with counting calories. It is actually good in my opinion, to stay on top of how much you are eating. But you can take this too far. If you are only eating 800 calories a day, that is not nearly enough. You say that you are maintaining your weight, but then you say you have lost 30 pounds so I am not sure what to make of that. But I can't believe that a person wouldn't lose weight on only 800 calories.

What was your starting weight and what are you at now? That is important to know. Are you at a dangerously low weight now? If you are underweight and you are still concerned about gaining more than a few pounds, than that strongly suggests that you may be anorexic and you really should get professional help. Anorexia is not necessarily about a person's wanting to be thin......it is more about the person feeling like they need to be in control of something. If they gain weight, they feel like they have lost control and something in the brain of an anorexic person can't handle that.

Try to remember that it is also a sign of control to take this situation and put a stop to it now. If you won't seek professional help, then try to increase your calories by a little bit at a time. Maybe just 50 calories a day. Slowly teach yourself that the world won't end if you start eating more. Re-train your brain on how to handle eating food. Get on-line and read about all the people who have died or lost their fertility because of eating disorders.

Talk to your family and your friends. You have nothing to be ashamed of here. This is not uncommon. It happens to a lot of young girls. It really sounds to me like you need professional help and I hope you seek it out. Good Luck to you!

you need to get out and be more active, get off the computer and get out there, work up an appetite. If you gain a bit of weight it is likely improved muscle tone and not fat so don't worry about that. If you cannot help yourself, have your folks get you to a therapist that specializes in anorexia nervosa.

aww honey i'm the same way....it sucks, but the less you eat the smaller your stomach gets-and the opposite is true as well.
