Each court district would keep their own records. There wouldn't be a single storage spot.

Since chapter 7 is a part of the federal bankruptcy code, you are asking about records of federal bankruptcy filings. I would guess whereever the federal court in NJ is. I think it is in Newark (even though Trenton is the state capital).

I would say they keep them in Trenton, but they may keep them at the county seat, then it would depend on where you filed for bankruptcy.
