BA and Qantas fly via Singapore, LA, Bangkok, Hong Kong to Sydney. You would have to disembark the Aircraft for security reasons and reboard the Aircraft after atleast 1 hour. This is also as the Crew changes over as they can't fly all the way to OZ due to their working hours.

A nonstop flight is per definition a flight that does not stop until it reaches its destination... If the flight had to stop at an intermediary airport for refuelling it would not be a nonstop flight. there are many direct flights from Chicago O'Hare to germany, and most wide bodied aircraft are able to make that journey. On multi segment trips, passengers usually remain onboard during the refuelling. But note that in some countries you may need to get off the aircraft and go through transit points inside the terminal buildings. The rule for refuelling with passengers onboard is to have two exits ready and available, plus the seatbelt sign must be off, and passengers must be instructed to keep their seatbelts unfastened. Hope this helps.

Just depends who your flying with, Singapore airlines tend to be on the ground for 90 minuets, some stay for 2 hours but others for just an hour, if you look on an airline booking website you will be able to see how long each airway stays on the ground.

A Boeing 747 400 series would not have to refuel on this journey. But it may be that a stopover is scheduled to either drop off or pick up passengers. In which case it could be around 2 hrs.You may be allowed to disembark in transit.

This will vary tremendously depending on which airline you are using.
The cheapest stop like commuter buses and take days to do the trip whereas the more expensive (e.g. BA, QANTAS) can fly straight through.
Check your wallet then choose your airline.
