I am getting married in June in a beautiful, old-fashioned chapel with red carpeting and pews. The reception is outdoors behind a white mansion. I am trying to decide what colors would be best for the wedding. I do not want red bridesmaid dresses (I'll probably choose light blue). I either want to incorporate the red into my wedding colors or make sure the wedding colors do not clash with red. Here are my ideas:

1. Light blue and white (maybe silver or gold accents) -- bouquets would be monochromatic mixed blues
2. Light blue and deep red (bouquets would be red roses with white accent flowers and light blue ribbon)
3. English garden theme -- Light blue with wildflower bouquets (blue, purple, yellow, white, and pink)

What do you think of the above ideas? Or do you have any other beautiful suggestions? Thanks!

Of the 3 you ideas you have chosen, I believe your 3rd idea is the best. With an English garden there are so many different color combinations available without having to worry about the right shade of this or that.

Quick note: my husband was looking over my shoulder, he even liked your 3rd choice. I knew he would since he's a country hillbilly at heart.

Whatever you and your finance decide on, that day will be yours, so make the best of it to your heart's desire.

Im also having a wedding in june in a chapel with a lot of red colouring! I didnt want red bridesmaid dresses either so we have gone for the colour scheme of red, black and gold. (black bridesmaids dresses, red and white bouquets with gold trimmings)
I really like ur second idea, i think that would be pretty, not so sure about the first (perhaps colouring all a bit too pale) or the 3rd (too many colours)

Hi and congratulations!

I love your idea #3....especially since you are having the reception outdoors and it will be in June. I think that would look so nice and incorporate everything you want! I love the English garden theme with wildflower bouquets....very nice!

Good luck!

One doesn't plan a wedding to match the color of the location! lol - Reminds me of a bride on here a few months ago who was worried that her gown wouldn't match the tablecloths!!!
I love the idea of the English garden theme - because it includes pretty colours. We had a July wedding, with our colours being pink, lilac, yellow, and light teal.

I like the first and third color schemes best; trying to match the red of the church soulnds like an impossible headache, and it might look better if you tone it down with cool colors insead of picking it up, anyway. With the third, though, you have to make sure none of the flowers clash with the red; most of this depends on whether it's a warm or cool red.

I love your English garden theme! It is so elegant and will fit the old fashioned chapel very well! And of course, it works with your outdoor reception!

I like your 3rd idea. Then if you wnat to decorate the chapel you can have those flowers with white ribbons on them.
