2 nights ago my siisters chihuahua was bit by another dog on the top of his eye. It looked as if blood came into the eye from the wound. Later it seemed as if it was begining to come out of the socket. But now he is able to move his eye and there is no longer blood. However, his eye has become grayish-blue with a milky-white pupil..i think its cataracts. What do you think it is? Please help.

It might be developing Cataracts depending on its age. Or he might be going blind. Either way,you should go to your vet and get him checked out!! It could be serious.
Hope i helped!!! Good LUck!!!

I think that because of you people delaying emergency care he is blind or will be shortly.
GET OFF YOUR LAZY BUTT and GET THAT DOG TO THE VET!!! This is his EYESIGHT we are talking about! And you know very well that a cut like that is painful. What is the matter with you?! Are you so cheap, so slovenly that you would let harm come to a tiny dog? You must not care very much about him.
You "think" it's cataracts. YOU don't think at all. You're an idiot. You are NOT qualified to make a diagnosis. First of all, cataracts don't appear within hours like that. You know very well that the dog received harmful injuries to his eye. You even state that "it seemed as if it was beginning to come out of the socket!" And STILL you did nothing?!
His injuries may require not only a vet but an opthalmic vet. GET THAT DOG TO THE ER NOW!!! Don't wait any more. Hours can mean the difference between being blind or having his sight. Stop asking unqualified strangers on the internet who have never even seen your dog, let alone examined him, and GET HIM to the emergency vet NOW! And don't whine that you can't find a vet. Emergency vets are open nights, weekends, and holidays when regular vets are closed. And don't whine that you "can't afford it." It's all a question of priorities. If you can afford a pizza, a monthly cell phone bill, or a new pair of shoes, you can afford a vet visit. Get a second job if you have to - you seem to have enough spare time to waste fooling around on the computer! If you cannot or will not provide proper care for your pets then none of you have the right to have one. And it is his RIGHT by LAW to receive proper care and to deny it is ABUSE!
Do NOT wait till tomorrow - go NOW!!!
What cruel, uneducated barbarians you people are. What cruelty and pain you have done to that poor little dog.

p - PLEASE use the internet and look up what a cataract is.
The lens of the dog's eye and the cornea have probably been damaged. What pain this poor dog has been in, I guess your family hasnt taken this animal to the vet.
If its at all possible or affordable, the dog should be taken to the vet as soon as possible. If that had been done when it happened it could have been treated and the eye probably saved. Please get your parents to take the poor dog to the vet, it might need to be removed.
Cant you imagine how painful the eye BULGING out of the socket must have been? Why do I KEEP having to write this in my responses, is compassion or empathy not even possible from some of you people?
With the eye dead like that in the socket the dog is blind in that eye now and my vet experience says that it'll probably get re-injured eventually.

cataracts wouldn't just suddenly appear. the dogs eye is blind now from the attack. call your local humane society to get a refferal to a low cost vet. when pets get hurt, it should be treated as if it was a child, and seek treatment.

You should have taken your dog to the vet the minute it was bitten and you saw blood. Especially around the eye area. I would take it tomorrow without delay and see if there is any permanent damage...there may be.

Go to the Vet. Its not cataracts but it could be "doggy pink eye" (conjunctivitis). My dog had that from when the cat scratched his eye. But since your dog was bit, he should go the vet regardless.
