You may want to ask at your local vet office or search online. Nowadays there are several tests some as low as $60 or so that can genetically identify your dog's breed or race.
There are some limitations as not all breeds are included but there is a good chance you can know exactly what the pooch is if you have some money to spend for that.

If you do not, the only other option would be to search for pictures of various breeds and try your best guess.
This is a good site to use this technique on.

If you really want to know for sure what you dog's breed is, I recommend that you have a DNA test done. According to an article that I recently read it is possible to have the test done for as little as $65. I plan to do it with one of my dogs.
DNA samples from thousands of dogs are used to create a sort of genetic road map of breeds. DNA markers that help tell breeds apart are checked against the thousands of DNA samples to find what the dog's ancestors were.

Sorry no picture --- no answer !

Why dont you put a picture in your 360 (profile section) so that we can down-load without the risk of picking up a viris or bug ?

The animals/breeds you mention are very different in appearance -- have you looked on the local authority licence papers to see what predominant breed they have assessed him to be ?.........Good Luck

Do you have a photobucket account containing a picture that you could link us to? Who'd you buy your dog from? A breeder?, is it from an accidental litter of mixed puppies that you came across in the newspaper?, where'd they come from? There's no way to tell you what breed(s) your dog may be without a photo, and even with one it may be near impossible to tell.

Try a DNA test. They can do breeding tests that go back a few generations.

probably a mongrel!!! a big lovely mix of them aaaallllllll.

mongrels are usually cuter and a lot less inbred and psychotic, even though the word makes them sound scabby and gross.

=)
