I just got engaged and one of the first things I want to figure out is what colors I want for the wedding. I have a few ideas but having problems coming up with accent colors.
Bold pink with yellow?
Pale green with white or cream?
Navy with sunflower yellow?
these a just a few ideas i have, but i would love to hear other ideas.
I want to try to stay away from blacks or browns..i want a summer feel to it.

thanks so much!!

im looking for two or three colors. A main color and accents. these bridesmaids dress will probably be the main color and the flowers the accents. But im not too worried about the flowers right now. Just the color theme. :)

I would go to a florist with the colors you are sure about and ask her to make up a few samples using different accents. That way you can see if you actually like it. Once you get the colors down, then she can experiment with different flowers that will be in season.

For July ..

I do like the navy & sunflower yellow ... but navy is a bit on the dark side ...
to me July would be muted colors .. because its so hot ... I would say a nice light purple, with a pale green & yellow ... or instead of purple maybe pink w/ pale green & yellow.

If you want bold colors ... than I would do the Sunflower Yellow, A vibrant Green and maybe a Bright Blue.

Good luck & congrats!!

I had pastel pink dresses with black ribbon accents around the waist. The men work black tuxes with pink ties. My decorations were all white, pink and silver. I guess pink is a popular color for summer weddings because you have an idea in your head from when you were little!

I don't like the bold pink with yellow, but the other two sound very pretty. Coral is also a pretty color for summer. Good luck and congrats.

I'm getting married in June and the colors I chose were deep pink (raspberry/fuschia) and a more darky bold yellow. I also wanted the Summer feel and I thought these colors would do it! I was originally thinking of light red and yellow but then i thought the red dresses next to the black tuxes would take me back to my high school days since my high school colors were red and black. I guess it all depends on which colors are right for you - it looks like you are pretty open to a lot of colors - which is cool. I think all your choices would look beautiful - of course the pink and yellow choice is my favorite!

I like Navy with Sunflower Yellow. They are great summer colors and are classy and unusual. The navy will give your wedding an elegant look, but the yellow will bring it back to a summer feel. You don't want a bunch of pastels -- the contrast of navy and yellow is better.

Are you looking colors like for the bridesmaids dress, flowers etc? Well, you can pick from your favorite color. Our niece got married last June and her colors were Victorian lilac for the bridesmaids and purple and white for the flowers. Don't mix bold pink with yellow. Pale green w/ white or cream is nice.

I would go with either sunflower and navy or pale green and cream. Definitely not pink and yellow!

Since sunflowers are a symbol of summer these would make lovely centerpieces and even bouquets (with some wild flowers.)

Good luck!

you want it to have light colors...don't use Navy with sunflower yellow b/c navy will be more of a winter color...you could mix your idea of Pale green with white or cream with the sunflower yellow, there all summery colors and they also look very nice together.....basically any color that is light and that you like will look nice together...after you decide what your using tell me so i can know....
