"Sweating out a cold" is an old wives tale. The best way to get over a cold quickly is to keep yourself hydrated (tea, soup, water, juice, etc, and no caffeine or alcohol) and rest, so that your body can devote as much energy as possible to the immune system. So you shouldn't work out.

Sweating out a cold is NOT a wise tail!!!!! I rarely get sick "Once every few years" & when I do it's only for a day. The first night of the cold I will sweat out, which is a little annoying because you will wake up a couple times & have to change the blankets, but I PROMISE you will feel 10x better the following morning or completely better. Works for me & everyone I have told. Just make sure to drinks LOTS of water since you will be sweating a lot.
