It is neither good or bad. The only things good or bad are the ways in which it is used negatively or positively, much like any icon in life.

Yes the star of David is bad, the kabbalists use it as a symbol, this is a Jewish religion as well. They put it on the flag for the same reason that the USA has an illuminati symbol on the money and has an illuminati symbol in the ny harbor, the saute of liberty. I don't think it will be the mark of the beast, I think that will be a chip that is implanted under the skin in the hand, which they have already started doing on a voluntary basis in the USA, I don't know about elsewhere. After the sunday law is passed, if it is, going to the sunday churches may be a spiritual mark of the beast because at that point they will be under the full control of the government.

I have often wondered about this myself.
I've read the story of David, but I don't see any star there.
Nor do I see any star as a symbol of the Israelites anywhere in the O.T.
The only hint I can find in the Bible as to the origin of the supposed "star of David" is in Acts 7:43. Here, Stephen is recounting the history of the Israelites--a sort of run-down of their constant rebellion against God.
He tells us:
Act 7:43 Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.
I don't know for sure if this is the classic six pointed star commonly referred to as the star of David, but there seems to be no other star that it could be...
I do know that the cult of Molech was incredibly evil, involving the sacrifice of new born infants every full moon. These sacrifices took place in the valley of Hinnom...also known as Gehenna. The babies were burned alive. And yes, Israel was also involved in this horrible practice.
If the six pointed star actually represents Molech and Remphan, then I would have to say that it is very, very bad.
No, you are not dumb. Nobody really knows for sure where the star of David came from, at least as far as I know.
Very interesting question--star for you!
(No children were harmed in order to bring you this star!)

Judaism itself was mixed at one time on the Mogen David and argued it's neutrality as What we do with the symbols determines our direction whether for good or for evil. The Symbol is neutral waht we attach to it makes it good or evil as we view it.
If I say a Swastika, we relate to that as evil. It has been related as only one meaning and that was Nazism and continues today. It was designed to be a Mogen Broken apart and symbolized how one philosophy, was about to influence generations.
The True Symbol of Israel was and is a Menorah and represents a Seven Brached Candle stick We ALL WILL see in heaven.
The Star of David, does in fact have some ancient symbolic meanings that are in fact contrary to conservative Christian Beleif.
Most Jews don't wear it for the ancient reason but as a symbol of respect for Judaism and the Annihilation attempt of a fascist leader.
Asking a person Why, is always a means of knowing the person better and learning about what that person knows or does not.
A magen is NOT satanic though, that star is five sided, but the magen has some kabbalistic association and earlier cultism.
Today any Jew except many Orthodox would wear a Star of David freely.

Symbols do not have inherent morals. Symbols mean what people ascribe to them. Just because someone associates bad things with a symbol doesn't suddenly make it bad...nor does it negate all of the other meanings other people have associated with it.
The Star of David is the symbol of the nation of Israel and is often considered the symbol of the Jewish faith, and this second meaning is the most common reason for people to wear the symbol. It also has a variety of metaphysical meanings, such as the union of spiritual and divine (each represented by a triangle, as a star of daivd is made of two interlocked triangles.)

There is no question that is dumb first of all. The Star of David is a Jewish symbol. Jesus was a Jew. The Star of David is good, just like a cross that a person wears. Hope this has helped. Blessings

I like it. I'm a Christian but have no moral objections to judaism, as long as I accept Jesus as the Messiah. Christians view themselves (or are supposed to, anyway) as adopted into the family of Abraham. I want one with a cross inside of it for myself. I have Jewish in my background somewhere but I don't know from which tribe I hail. If asked, I tell people I'm from Judah since my big brother (Jesus) is the Lion of the tribe of Judah.

*** gt chap. 7 Jesus and the Astrologers ***
Jesus and the Astrologers (THE STAR OVER THE CITY OF DAVID) PEOPLE WHERE THIS?
A NUMBER of men come from the East. They are astrologers—people who claim to interpret the position of stars. While they were at home in the East, they saw a new star, and they have followed it hundreds of miles to Jerusalem.
When the astrologers get to Jerusalem, they ask: “Where is the one born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when we were in the east, and we have come to do him obeisance.”
When King Herod at Jerusalem hears about this, he is very upset. So he calls the chief priests and asks where the Christ is to be born. Basing their reply on the Scriptures, they answer: “In Bethlehem.” At that, Herod has the astrologers brought to him and tells them: “Go make a careful search for the young child, and when you have found it report back to me, that I too may go and do it obeisance.” But, actually, Herod wants to find the child to kill him!
After they leave, an amazing thing happens. The star they had seen when they were in the East travels ahead of them. Clearly, this is no ordinary star, but it has been specially provided to direct them. The astrologers keep following it until it stops right above the house where Joseph and Mary are staying.
When the astrologers enter the house, they find Mary with her young child, Jesus. At that they all bow down to him. And they take out of their bags gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Afterward, when they are about to return and tell Herod where the child is, they are warned by God in a dream not to do that. So they leave for their own country by another way.
Who do you think provided the star that moved in the sky to guide the astrologers? Remember, the star did not guide them directly to Jesus in Bethlehem. Rather, they were led to Jerusalem where they came in touch with King Herod, who wanted to kill Jesus. And he would have done so if God had not stepped in and warned the astrologers not to tell Herod where Jesus was. It was God’s enemy, Satan the Devil, who wanted Jesus killed, and he used that star to try to accomplish his purpose. Matthew 2:1-12; Micah 5:2.

its not bad, it is the symbol of judaism. there are many theories for what it means exactly but it was supposed to be a shield. the star is intertwining, one arrow pointing up and the other down, supposedly meaning the relationship between god and man.

Why would it even occur to you that it's a bad thing? It's only bad if you were a Jew living in Nazi occupied territories and you had to wear a yellow one on you clothes. (And reading the Quran isn't bad either. You need to change up your style.)
