I have friends that are smokers but I prefer not to go to their house. I also don't like riding in their cars. I don't think that makes me a bad person I just don't like the smell. I also have asthma and smoke tends to make my symptoms worse.

I have always told myself I would never date a smoker - and I haven't. I'm currently married to a non-smoker.

So I guess the answer is No - I accept people for their bad habits - but I do tend to treat them a little different then my non-smoking friends.

I dislike smoking as a habit, and it does influence my opinion of people.

It is never the only factor in me liking or disliking someone, but if all else was identical I would like a non-smoker more than a light smoker and a light smoker more than a heavy smoker.

Their behaviour as a smoker is also a factor.

If a smoker is inconsiderate of others with the smoke they produce then I would be less tollerant than if they are considerate.

yes as I'm a non smoker...but somehow I married one...but he did end up quitting. I think it's hard if you like someone that has a habit you don't like.

nope. other people can do as they see fit. i quit smoking about 3 weeks after i met my husband(then boyfriend) and i stayed quit. we married and he's still puffing away. he doesnt smoke in the house/car etc. and he doesnt smoke around or in front of our daughter.
just because someone else is a smoker doesnt mean they are less of a person. you like people in spite of their "short comings" and if you dislike someone for smoking, then...that's your problem.

No Smoking doesn't make them bad. Drinking and drugs is another story.

Not at all. As long as they don't try to push their habits on me. They can do what they like.
