then why do some christians whine about the word god being taken out of pledge, money, etc?
are christians just not mature adults enough to tolerate the government law of separation of church and state?
do whatever you want in private schools or private facilities, but public schools and government buildings do have to follow government laws.
just because you strongly believe in your god, doesn't make everyone else believe it too, let alone proving the existence of god, and therefore follow your mindset and lifestyle.
you say those who oppose will burn in hell, but that's only with your perception. not everyone lives with your perception.
if following certain government laws goes against your bible and you truly believe that your bible and its laws are of highest priority, then you are a criminal, not in a conventional way. if you act out on your perceived highest priority and goes against certain government laws, then how is that different from a psychokiller who believes stron

strongly in his/her religion. in all fairness, one would have to give this psychokiller some credit since to that person, his religion and god and its laws are just as real as say christian fundamentalists. in both cases, both types are breaking government laws. the degree of severity is only relative. one passively ruins someone's life, the other actively ruins. and in some cases, the christian fundamentalists are actively destroying other people's lives. where's the justice?!

like i said, it makes you a criminal to go against government law of separation of church and state. if you instill your lifestyle of say praying in school to others, then you're breaking the law of separation of church and state. same goes for in court rooms, white house, congress, and any government buildings.

@ Annie, ok so you can whine and act unchristianly. and then end with god bless. that's classic. talk about irony. and i think you didn't really get what i said about not everyone believes in your god or lifestyle; doesn't make your religion anymore valid or not. you need to re-read and re-read that some more.

when did me wanting my rights mean necessarily ruining your rights?!
only an arrogant defensive person would suggest that.
you only see it as your rights taken away from you when you can't do certain privileges in schools or in other public buildings. but you don't see it as forcing everyone else to follow your lifestyle.

right to assemble, yea, but in public places, we, the people, share. doesn't make the space yours or mine. and in government buildings including the school, you follow government laws.
@ trace, hahaha "the ten commandments say "thou shalt not kill." or perhaps you haven't read them? get a grip. in your attempt to drag"
did you not read my above details? or just went with your biased predisposed view beforehand.
the psychokiller follows his/her own religion. that means his/her own religion does not necessarily mean christianity. why do so many christians make it a habit to be so arrogant and not even realize it. not everyone believes in your god. not everyone lives like you do. not everyone has your mindset. doesn't make yours right or wrong. doesn't make theirs right or wrong. but apparently, these christians and believers of similar branches seem to always instill their ways onto others no matter what.

"Amen".
Oh and "Under God". Is still on out money. Those new coins have it printed on the very thin side.
I agree. This is a nation that has seperation of church and state. In the past it meant that the Governemnt couldnt say "We are a Catholic (or whatever) nation." That was becuse you where the only ones really around back then. Today, you have Asatru, Paganism, Wicca, Hellenism, Muslim, etc.. So today the governemnt is now responsible for us to. Which means it is doing its duty to us by removing it and remaining a religiously neutral institution.
(Ideally, We all know it has also been doing things to remove christianity from where christianity does acctually belong. For instance Public schools are violating the rights they are supposedly "protecting" when they force a school child to take off there cross, or by not allowing them to read a bible. Yet if a muslim girl (this is the most common example) wheres a turban/wrap, and is preaching the qu'ran they dont say anything except maybe try to change the subject.
I am Asatru and i am very offended by this. We are all men and women and we all are related even if there are those who have no faith in our common ancestors they are still the children of the Aseir and Vanir. We all have the freedom to practice and seek our faith, even the christians. No special casses for minoritys, and no subjugating the majority. Equality and Justice is not for the small, nor the big, it is for all.... which is why it is called equality, and why the foundation for Justice is Fairness.

Legally speaking, no - on a federal level, there are no laws regarding "separation of church and state." Anyone who thinks there is has not read the entire text of the United States Constitution (and before anyone asks, yes, I have).
As an American who grew up in Washington DC and spent a lot of time going downtown to see the monuments and museums, I'd say that given what you see when you are there (which basically amount to shrines/temples to our founding fathers - and in the case of the Lincoln Memorial, it literally IS a temple because it is carved straight into the marble over Lincoln's head that it is a temple), it shows that this country is into a form of ancestor-worship and therefore has very strong elements of paganism in its history.
I'm an Episcopalian and this doesn't bother me at all; it is important to remember those remarkable people who helped birth this nation and the noble ideas it (usually) stands for.
Not only that, but not all Christians take the Bible literally. Not all Christians treat the Bible as an idol, to be worshipped in and of itself. "Bibliolatry" is worshipping a book ahead of God, and God said to put NOTHING ahead of Him. The Holy Spirit is the third party of the Trinity - not the Scriptures. The Scriptures can only be understood in the light of the Holy Spirit, and Spirit trumps book every time.
This is where discernment comes in for each individual person. He or she has to determine if civil laws contradict God's law, and then act upon the mature, informed conclusion they come to.

You are being exactly what you are accusing others of being. The constitution does not contradict the laws of God. In fact, MANY of the laws that our society holds to are also God's laws.
I agree with you that separation of chuch and state are necessary. God forbid that any country become a theocratic state.
I do disagree with how you are stating your message. You have not read your constitution or biblical laws to compare or contrast. Try reading a copy of the ten commandments and see how many of them ARE government laws.
If you respond in anger, how do you expect anyone to listen to you who does not already believe in what you believe? You could not convince me to consider what you say is true because of your spite.
The first ammendment is there to protect you and me. I want to keep my religion and don't want you abolishing it and I don't want to force my religion on you. God does not work that way. It is a choice.
Edit: Once again you are wrong. There is NO law of separation of church and state. The only reference is in the first ammendment.
Edit: I have not forced anything on you. I don't even know you. I say do what you want to do. Believe what you want to believe. Vote for what you want to vote for. I never twisted your arm, pointed a gun at you or even asked you to believe.
Cameron, as evidenced by your self acclaimed nickname, psychokiller I feel you need some professional help. I find your argument irrational, irrelevant, and totally troll like in nature. I have even begun to question your age. Your argument does not hold water.

Well it's because those people( we'll call them.....morons, just for the sake of this answer) believe in separation of church and state when it's somebody elses religion. But when there is a push to pass laws that only favor the morons religion, then they change their argument to "US is a Christian nation, lol, omg, rofl". These morons typically believe that their religion is the only path that leads to a moral or ethical society, even though common sense is what tells you not to stab a stranger on the street.
If religion was so effective then why are there priest being arrested left and right for molesting little kids. Did they not drink enough of the moral tea? Why is Ted Haggard getting arrested for buying meth off of a gay prostitute? These people are leaders and religion hasn't helped them be moral.
If you look at some of the most atheistic societies around the world you'll see that they typically have the lowest crime rates. That is something morons never acknowledge because they know they're wrong.

the separation or church and state refers to taxes. you should take criminal justice 101 and constitutional procedures. that would help you out a lot. seems like your really angry and/or bitter. you should calm down and do some research.
have a great night.
i know isn't it? trust me, i was being classy. as a matter of fact, i was being REALLY nice. but I'm not going to stoop to your level and insult you because of our different beliefs. by the way it was very classy of you to call me a criminal.
please continue to have a good night.

here's the deal. the people who set up our constitution, you know about that, right? the "founding fathers". yea, that group of guys. they wrote our constitution to include the word GOD. our monetary system was also set up with the word GOD. it seems to have served us well over the last, oh, 200 years. you would have us change it because it offends you? you offend me. use your common sense. the ten commandments say "thou shalt not kill." or perhaps you haven't read them? get a grip. in your attempt to drag
Christians in, you are grasping at very thin straws.
EDIT: dear friend, i would never attemp to push my religious beliefs on you. and i never said you would burn in hell. YOU said I said it. You included me in your broad "YOU" statement. i am a law abiding citizen. the bible tells me to follow our laws.
you have a huge chip on your shoulder my friend and are taking it out on ALL Christians by lumping US into a group. God bless and i pity you.

so if i follow the 10 commandments...that makes me a criminal? yea, laugh all you want. but yes, i do follow the 10 commandants. I've never cheated on my hubby, i don't spread rumors about my neighbors, I've never murdered anyone, i don't put anyone or anything above my God. what is so hard about breaking those rules? no, im not a saint...the fat is i try not to sin. there is the difference. not everybody is doing what you think they may be doing just because you see it in society.
let me guess, you've killed someone?
thou shall not kill? i haven't don't that..and that is also in the laws of the land. that makes me a criminal? wow
do you know the law? so you study the law? the law in fact has followed some of the rules that are from the bible. the military has adultery laws. there are laws about lying and how it could get you into civil and federal trouble. you should do your research, whether you like it or not..we do follow some biblical laws.
yea, and your going against my freedom of religion and also the right to assemble. that makes you a criminal also. you should know about that one..it's in our bill of rights. the 1st 14 amendments of the Constitution.

Now why should we NOT have a say so if we are paying for them ????????? Hmmmmmm, hard question to answer aint it ??? go in peace........ God bless
Edit- your response to my answer is very predicable..... I think you should re-read and re-read your entire question and then do the same with my answer...... rofl....... I make a valid point and you mock..... typical response...... *sigh*...... anyway.......... GOD BLESS
2nd Edit- I see it one way, you see it another..... is that NOT part of being free to believe as you want ???? this could go on and on and on forever and has........
