Well, there are several connections. The most notable being the United States previously funded the both countries to fight other countries we disliked more. Iraq vs. Iran, Afghanistan Alliance/Islamic fighters v.s USSR. Prior to our invasion into Iraq the similarities remained rather superficial. Both the Taliban and Iraq was lead by Sunni Islamics, however the Taliban was focused on religious zealotry and condemned secular Islamic nations like Iraq. Taliban also harbored a group of Sunni Zealots who modeled their beliefs after an Egyptian who once lived in the US. Following 911, Saddam, late president of Iraq, was pleased by the carnage caused by this group of zealots (AQ) and publicly praised them. That was the extent of the connection. After the onset of the Iraq war, AQ leaders claimed the Iraq would serve as the battlefield between Islam and the US. Many foreign fighters flooded in and even more local Iraqis (now jobless) were employed in the holy war against the US. AQ in Iraq (also known as AQIZ in like a franchise of AQ. It's kinda the same but under separate management and focused on various goals. AQIZ is a easy well known group that any team of thugs who wants recognition and respect can claim they are a part of. The wars are completely independent of each other and a success in either will not in of it's self lead to an easy success in the other location. With that said, neither place can be ignored. While Iraq will not likely lead to an attack on our homeland, the AQ leadership in the tribal regions of Pakistan are responsible for 9/11 and they will strike again. For more info about AQIZ read the National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq: http://hosted.ap.org/specials/interactives/wdc/documents/nie020207.pdf

Terrorists from Iraq and Afghanistan attacked us on 9/11, particular, Osama is a Saudi Arabian yet, he develop into interior the Afghan-Jihad conflict, while the Soviets attacked them, the US helped build them, we did that so as that they might combat them off, we did no longer comprehend it would finally end up like this, besides the shown fact that it did. to allow you realize the certainty, i will connect Iraq to 9/11, if there develop into no Terrorists there, then why are our troops having to sidestep IEDs?this is the form you connect them, if there develop into none, then they does not be attempting to kill American troops, and noone can say, they're merely fake effect us, because of the fact human beings in Iraq do discover out approximately what happens interior the international.

In theory, the United States went to both of them because of terrorism. As you state in your added remarks. Iraq was about WMD's and Afghanistan was about Bin laden in short. Other than they are both classified as a fight on terrorism though they are very different in all other ways. Iraq is mostly fought on flat and urban environments and Afghanistan is mostly in the mountains. Where Afghanistan is quick to pick up the ball and run with it and the United States is there helping them...well, Iraq is taking the bay step approach. Afghanistan was before 9/11 and Iraq was after 9/11. I have thought of two other ways they are the same...they both claim U.S. military lives and they both are a strain on our country's resources. All of the above are facts. I left my personal opinions off as requested.

Not really -- other than both are countries the US attacked.
Afghanistan was the previous region where Al-Qaeda was operating out of -- they've since moved closer to Pakistan.
Al-Qaeda was not in Iraq until two years after we invaded Iraq -- because Saddam hated terrorists more than we do.

sure ... we had success in Afghanistan (short of catching bin laden), but we crippled the Taliban and helped institute a democratic government ... and Bush realized he could get rich looting Iraq and the American taxpayer
other than the opportunity to make money, there is no connection
