Two of my friends have terminal cancer and use morphine which as we know comes from The Poppy. So I believe God created them for good.

God created everything & said it was good. It's only when men/women abuse them they become bad. That doesn't make the plant bad. Think about all the suffering that has been eased or prevented because of these plants.

It's like anything else we can use it for good or ill. Even tobacco (the latest demon to be attacked) has some good. A gun can provide meat to a man stranded and protect him from predators or it can kill a man for no just reason. Too much aspirin, iron, etc can kill too. Too much of any good thing or for the wrong reasons are bad for the people involved. But that doesn't mean it's bad.

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. Genesis 1:31.
And when man sin everything bad coming also to the nature.
And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
See also:
Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. Romans 8:21-22.
We can also choose what to do,for good purpose or bad purpose.

Theologically, the trinity of LOVE is the basis for all of creation. God created us in order to know, love and serve Him in this life and to be happy with Him in Heaven.
