Can someone give me a name of a good brand? I dont really care for the cost of it. Im a pet groomer in training so I'm going to need something sturdy and perferably quiet. Any help is golden!
<3 Thanks!

I prefer the Andis AGC because they last and are easy to up-keep and tha casing is easy on my hand. I've been a pet stylist for 33 years and it is still my passion. I'm also a Certified Master Groomer with the IPG (International Proffessional Groomers Association). I used The Oster for the first 10 years, but every time a new ergodynamic one comes out I just gotta try it, I also use a small cordless clipper called the Arco Moser. I couldn't live with out it.

None are truly silent & vibration free, but I had a pair of Oster Golden A5 clippers and they were pretty quiet. If you are only talking about clippers for trimming small areas, some of those mens beard trimmers are pretty quiet. Ebay is a great place to find used clippers. The other poster was right, you need to train the dog & you can use what you have. You can always use a muzzle, but right now, your dog is in charge of you as far as grooming goes & that is backwards. I would be inclined to train the dog & not get new clippers.

My favorite is the Andis super 2 speed, has been for the last 10 years. They seem to outlast the Oster and I would never switch back even though I was a die-hard Oster user for 15 years.

But I do prefer the Oster blades on that Andis clipper. Especially the cryotech.

Oster A5 is all I EVER use. They are practically indestructable. The biggest complaint I have is teh blow back form the motor will blow the clipped coat into your face if you don't pay attention. Another nice feature of the A5 is that Oster will refurbish them for a bit of nothing at the factory, and they are easy enough to repair yourself for things like brushes, switches, and such. And any interchangable blades will work...Wahl....Andis...all of them.
