Please let me know if you think the someone would be able to change the straps on the first dress to look more off the shoulder like the straps of the second dress.

Don't shop David's Bridal. All their dresses are cheaply made in sweat shops. There's no uniformity in sizes at all. Just something I learned when I was shopping for dresses.

Anyhoo, it should be easy to convert the straps of the first to the fit of the second. I'd buy a little big so the straps are larger and have room to slouch off the shoulders. A good seamstress can take in the rest of the dress to fit and help you get the sleeves to fit the right way. It's a gorgeous dress!

My dress is made by Mori Lee...check the website out. Their dresses are gorgeous as well and aren't terribly expensive :)

Congratulations and good luck!

if you really look at the pictures closely - you will see that the "strap" on the 2nd dress sits on the edge of the shoulder on the left & falls over the shoulder on the right. That is because of the way the model is posed.
Once the dress was made it would be difficult to change the neckline as it requires a different cut to have the straps sitting off the shoulders.
if you looked at both of these dresses together straight from the front you would probably find that they both sit the same way.
For photos at least you could get that effect by standing at an angle & dropping the one shoulder .

That first dress is beautiful! I wonder why you want that dress to look more like the 2nd one. The 1st is designed that way w/
a low neckline and the 2nd more of a sweetheart neckline a little off the shoulder. You'll ruin the design of the 1st gown if you change the strap. Actually the strap is already too narrow.
Have you tried it already and see how it looks on you? Maybe all you got to do is push that strap a little to the side of your shoulder. Try it and see. Good luck!!

I love the first one, but it does not look like it could be changed without taking the bodice apart. Personally I like the straps exactly they way they are in the first dress. The second one looks like it doesn't fit correctly. Remember you have to wear it all day or all evening and you want to be comfortable. It looks like you would have to keep adjusting the straps on the second one almost like they are falling off.

Make sure you go try on both styles and see which one is more flattering for your figure.

Good luck!

How about taking both pictures to a dressmaker and having them custom make it for you? Tell them you want the sleeves of the second one but the dress of the first one. It would be much easier than trying to alter an already made dress. It's beautiful by the way.

Great dresses, I think I saw the first one in a magazine and liked it a lot. I am not a seamstress but it looks possible. Good luck

Because that dress is so low cut, I'm not sure it would be very classy if it were low cut AND off the shoulder. It was meant to be that way for a reason. Leave it alone.

Im not sure if thats possible, I would show these pictures to a tailor and ask them. If they say yes, I would ask for something in writing. Not to be negative, but I wouldnt want you to get your dress back and it's not what you want, so its always good to safeguard yourself. They are both beautiful. Good luck!

The first gown is GORGEOUS! _ go with that one!
A wonderful tailor can do great things - however, I would worry that too much of the upper bodice would be compromised to make the sleeves go off the shoulder.

A seamstress might be able to do it, but I think that the design is beautiful as it is. That's something that I could imagine wearing. I don't like the David's Bridal one nearly as much.
