a cuo is 8 ounces so 8 divided by 2/3 is 5 1/3 ounces or 5 ounces and 2 teaspoons

8 ounces in a cup

Nope, you aren´t an idiot.... measurements can be very confusing... we use liters and milliliters here, so a usual size for a cup is like 150 mils, which makes it 100 for 2/3 and if you are talking about solids just consider it a bit more than half a cup.
