HOw about a nice recliner cover in oatmeal or wheat, and paint the walls in a taupe or mocha. Then you could accent in golds and/or yellows. I'd save the green for the room with live plants. If you also added a shade of blue, then y9ou would have a triadic scheme, but any more color than that and it would be too much.

Try:
hunter green accent wall with sage green walls
maroon accent wall with dusty rose walls
Accent wall should be the wall you want people to focus on [ ideally, the one they see as they enter the room [ - fireplace,
photo gallery, etc. ]
Then add throw pillows in hunter green, maroon, and the light wall color.
Repeat the colors in accessories - lamps/shades, vases, ornaments, flowerpots, candles/holders.
Try to get a bit of the colors in the artwork too.

I would go with one of the colours you already have in your living room, like the hunter green or dark maroon that you mentioned. This will make the room look tied together and both of these colours would look beautiful. If you really don't want to use them, chocolate brown goes with everything, gives the roo a cosy feel and looks gorgeous! Good luck!

I agree with nurse Susan and go with a hunter green wall. Try to take sample colours of the furniture to the paint store so that the greens match really well and the burgundy is a great contrast colour.

I would mos def use a gold for your main color, like "mannered gold" by Sherwin Williams. Maroon, hunter & gold are a classic color combo. You see it in oriental rugs all the time. As for your accent wall, I would suggest hunter green, or if you want to go bold, a red - like "red tomato." I would only do maroon if your couch is *not* against that particular wall.

Also, consider wallpaper for your accent wall. A lot of people are too quick to dismiss the idea - I think b/c they think that wallpaper is out of style - but there are some very cool designs out there now. Check these out:

you could go neutral. thats probably the best. umm..any shade of tan or gold sound good? maybe the accent wall could be even a shade of brown if you want the room to feel warm.
