how do i convince my mom to get me a new phone?

my phone is horrible and it doesnt work. i need a new phone. but how? my mom wont budge

Ask her if she will get one if you work for it. If you are old enough to get a job, get one. If you are not, see if she will exchange chores for a phone. Show her that you are not a spoiled brat and are willing to work hard for the things you want.

If you honestly believe there is something wrong with your phone, you should go talk to your service provider with your mother. I'm sure you and your mom are just worried about the added expense of buying a new phone. However, if you explain what is going on to your service provider, they will probably let you trade it in for a new one. If you have to pay for it, there is usually a nice rebate if you remember to send in the coupon, order slip/confirmation, etc., and then they are not as expensive as they seem.

It's amazing to me that you think it is your mom's responsibility to buy a phone for you. How's this for a plan:

1. Get a job.
2. Save.
3. Create a budget.
4. If, and only if, you can demonstrate that a phone and plan fits within your budget, buy your own d--- phone.

Make a deal with her. Tell her if she buys you a new phone you'll make sure u get good grades and that you will start paying her back for it. And if you don't complete that then just have her take it "away" or whatever.

get a job and buy your own. you should be thankful for what your parents give you in the first place, your mom obviously has her reasons for not wanting to buy you a new phone, dont be greedy

Ask her to see if she gets better reception on it than you do... maybe she'll see it sucks. You may also ask her to pay half and you pay half. You can get a go-fone at WM for $50 that will take your current sim card.
