Again this is another question that only makes sense if we hypothesize that God exists, and as speculations go, this is a very dubious one indeed. More than likely, the reason why Bush continually receives funding for his misguided and immoral war for profit is precisely because there is no infinite, omnipotent, and omniscient intelligence governing the galaxy. There is no benevolent creature that has a supreme sense of justice that will fight on our behalf.

For if such a creature was to exist, then clearly he would have thwarted Bush in his plans, not acquiesced to them. The fact that such greedy warmongers, like Bush, can exist and thrive in our world, not to mention all the other ills that inflict our world, is a testament that the God that most people believe in doesn’t exist. The most powerful argument against the existence of God comes from observing how the world really is – full of inequity and strife.

In the final analysis, wars persist, people die, children get horrible diseases, women get raped, innocent people get robbed, etc. because there is no well meaning, all powerful ruler in the sky watching us. Our fractured world is a testament to our shortcomings, and also a testament that no outside agent will ever fix it. We must do it ourselves. Religion, and the stupendous beliefs that it cherishes, unfortunately, blinds many to this reality.

If it's god answering Bush's prayers for funding in Iraq, then he's ignoring the prayers of the millions of people who are having to live paycheck to paycheck because of it. I suppose god only favors the rich and powerful and not the people who have to do half their grocery "shopping" at charity food banks because they can't afford both their groceries and their utility bills.

George might think that it is God answering his prayers if indeed he prays for that, but God would never answer a prayer to kill people. We are not the judges and therefore have no right requesting someone's death, directly or indirectly (via funding). We are the judged.

Maybe, we really have no way of knowing for sure. But, I sure do hope Congress keeps appropriating the money. We can't run from the terrorists. We'll look weak in the world's eyes and there will be something worse in Iraq than Saddam-a new Iranian superpower with their apocalyptic regime!

This apathetic nation is the answer to George Bush's prayers. He can do whatever he wants, no one seems able to stop him.

It is actually not that surprising…most of those politicians are financed by either the Neo-Cons or the double loyal Pro-Israeli lobby (both work for the same boss; Israel)…So, it is only logical for them to spend tax payers' money and sacrifice the flesh and blood of our children into Israel's interest….

There are actions I may take based on imagination of myth. It is possible for me to imagine that if I use my body to perform certain rituals then a spirit will empower me to create a better life for self. Only my creative abilities and powers of imagination limit the kinds of mythical rituals I might imagine a spirit to require of me. Some of the more common actions that some might imagine that their spirit requires in order for their souls to be granted power to create a better life for self include prayer, praise, confession, sacrifice, pleading, bargaining, groveling, servitude, stewardship, pilgrimage, asking, incanting, chanting, meditating, and or dancing.

What are the potential benefits and risks of liability that I would incur in accepting such suggestions from others? As a form of communication between members of communities of faithful believers, the ritual of public prayer offers the potential benefit of focusing the minds of others on needs and aspirations of self and others. As a form of meditation, the ritual of private prayer offers the potential benefits of focusing mind of self on needs, and aspirations of self and others. Certain rituals might offer us the potential benefit as fun activities. To participate in rituals is for me a matter of choice. When others attempt to use spiritual blackmail to coerce me into performing rituals, it is a matter of choice as to whether or not I comply or resist. Others may teach, think, believe and expect that a spirit will deprive me of love if I am not inclined to or cannot physically perform a ritual. I think, believe and expect that my spirit confers unconditional love and freedom on all of our souls, even those souls who do not accept the education, entertainment and leadership provided by the House of Ideology.
