When my daughter was little, I would run to the school and pick her up, we would go to McDonald's for dinner, then run home and hand out candy to the early, littlest ones and then she would get her costume on and I would follow her from house to house, carrying her booty like a pack mule.

Then, at 8 pm we'd be home drinking hot chocolate while she dumped all her loot on the living room floor and she counted all the "good stuff" and I checked for "questionable" items.

She's too old to do Halloween now but I've been invited to a costume party this year! Boo!

Halloween is the pagan trip Samhain. Then it grew to become the Catholic all Saints day whilst they marched by means of Europe. Your customary American Christian is protestant so as that they do now not even tie it to relgion now not to point out atheists. Did you even seem this up?

Hell yeah! It's not like you have to be a Druid to celebrate the day of their ancient harvesting sabbat. It's been a secular holiday for quite some time now.

I take my daughters trick or treating and hand out candy. No, I don't celbrate it due to it being the night before All Saints Day.

I do think that having holidays and traditions are good things.

It's probably my favorite holiday. But I also *participate* in Christmas, too. What's the big deal. We atheists know it's all for fun.

I decorate, dress up, party, and hand out candy. That's the extent of my "celebrating"

dress up... hand out candy to the kids at the door... then when the kids are done it's time for adult play... go to a dance or a bar and have a good old time....
