So Im just chilling with some people around a table at school, when this dude I barely know (I met a couple times through a friend) come up to me and says something (from what I remember sounded like..."Hey, can you give me your soul-I mean a picture?" I said, of course, "no way dude". Then he said he just wanted to give him a picture. Then being the nice guy that I am, decided "sure why the heck not?" So he takes the pic, then he says he needed me to sign a sheet of paper saying a couple things about what I do around the school. I sign it, we chatted for a bit, he went off. Within the following weeks, I would see him around and he woul say **** like ,"I still have your soul", and I would laugh it off say no ya dont, and within the next couple months, I though about it off and on, then entirely forgot about it.
Then just before the summer, I started thinking about it again. Now, months later, I still am thinking about it day and night.

Okay...almost day and night. There are some times when I find I completely forget about it, such as when I hang out with friends or do things I enjoy like play music or video games.
Did I really lose some part of myself? I still question this, as I still feel like alot of me is still within my personality(sense of humor, that appears to still be apparent). Now, I hate to give you my life story, but I tend to dwell on often unimportant subjects, but forget about them later on. Longest maybe was like, a week or two, but this feels way different.
But first, lets just get this one thing clear...aetheists, I know your out there, you opinion is much valued, but I see alot of posts around the answer page on similar subjects that say "People dont have souls". Ive been a musician for some time now, Im not very religous but do believe in God, and I refuse to believe that:P
So please everyone...give me your advice.
Did I lose soul, or some small part of me those many months ago?

WOW did not expect this many posts in such a short time, this is great stuff from you guys! Your advice has been quite helpful!
Note: Thing is though, he doesnt seem like such a bad guy lol. I talk to him on facebook sometimes, he also plays guitar/RISK so we got a bit in common.
But you guys seem right, I do tend to overreact, and I am secretly a bit superstitious. Thanks again, and if anyone else has got something to say, please feel free to post.

No, you didn't lose a part of your soul, so don't worry! Although, it has been previously believed that every picture of you takes away part of your soul, or that someone can purchase your soul with your consent, but neither are true! This dude sounds a sandwich short of a picnic?! He could just have been doing this to wind you up, though?
God is the creator of our souls, and no-one can buy them, sell them or give them away, not even in part!
Our souls will remain in us until we die and then it goes to heaven, or hell!
We can only have one God and who or what you worship in life will determine that. Some people live for money, power, material things, etc, but that is the same as worshipping a false God! Jesus should be first, then others next and ourselves last!
Jesus first
Others next
Yourself last = JOY!
Sorry, I didn't mean to go on, but I wanted to put your mind at rest. Hope it helps!

some cultures (Amish, Native Americans, etc) believe that if you have your picture taken, your soul goes into the picture or something, but i don't believe that really happens in the physical sense. But in the emotional sense, i guess maybe a little piece of it stays in it, in that when you die, your loved ones can still see you every time they look at your picture and feel like you're still with them. But in this case, i think he's just messing with you, so don't worry about it too much, ok? Because if you do worry about it and it keeps you from enjoying your life, then,in a way, it's almost like you are letting him have part of your soul. So just try to maybe loosen up a little and concentrate more on just living each day to the fullest and you and your soul should be fine

Honey, there are some people, I believe they are of a Native American Heritage, I could be wrong about that part, anyway they believe that when a picture of them is taken that the camera captures their soul on film. They also believe the only way to free it is to develop the film and then their soul is released. And then there is another theory, I believe that when their picture is taken their soul is capture forever in that picture and whoever took the picture, or owns it owns that person's soul. I don't believe that it's true. You own your soul. And I believe that you are the only one that controls what you want to do with it. I don't want to get all religious on you...But, remember free will. You decide, if you know what I am talking about.

I think this comes from the fact that years and years ago when cameras were new, people didn't understand them. They couldn't figure out the technology that made the picture and they were suspicious that it was somehow "stealing" a part of them. Native Americans were notorious for refusing to allow their picture taken, thinking it would entrap their soul somehow.
I remember some kid joking to me about stealing my soul a long long time ago. Didn't happen.
Even if he WERE the Devil himself, I am still not sure it could be done. You first said NO, and that's what's important. But how often does the Devil come to earth?!? :) He's just a weird kid and sounds like he wants to make you uncomfortable, so stay away from him. Or come up with a similar mind-f*ck to mess with him with.

Wow! That's kind scary huh? Well I wouldn't worry about it. I think it's harmlees. I know tons of people who get scared of chain letters and things like that. It's dependent upon what you believe. If you honestly feel like your soul is gone, then maybe you should have a conversation with the man upstairs(God). Unless you have other religious beliefs then speak to the higher power you believe in. Try not to think about it too much. It will eventually go away. But be careful. You never know what's going on in people's minds today.

No he doesn't. When you get worried, call upon the Divine White Light that is everywhere, your higher self, etc, and ask to remove anyone/anything that should be there and to protect and guide you and your loved ones.
If it was that simple to take a soul (or part of one) we'd all be owned back and forth. Your soul is your birthright, the Higher Power is guardian of it.
It's also important what you believe because that';; influence how you act. So this moment choose to empower yourself and appreciate yourself. Give thanks to the Divine and guides who watch over you.
And learn from this, don't sign stupid contracts, and if you do, don't be gullible.
*If you still worry, pray to the Divine, white light, your spirit guides to right any wrong, have faith, and move on.
Good Luck!

while living you still have your soul cause one bible taught Me all living things have a soul.
the demons that haunt Me try to say i sold My soul, but scripture taught Me differently.
read My blog and see some whimsical writtings about God cause one bible says all souls belong to God or Satan. I have been called both on the internet so according to that i could say i own your soul. but really i don't, it's yours, do with it whatevet you can to make your life better and the lives of those around you better. And then you would have My blessing.

No. Some people believe that when you get your picture taken, it steals a part of your soul. This is not true. It is just a regular picture. He was probably trying to freak you out.
