I have a GE phone/answer system that is about 6 yrs old. Yesterday it started beeping 4 times, every 5 minutes. I replaced the battery, still beeps....I unplugged it from the electricity and from the phone jack, and removed the battery, so it gets ZERO power...still it beeps 4 times every 5 minutes. I plugged everything back in and hit the reset button...still it beeps.. What the heck is going on? How can it beep even with it unplugged and no battery? And how do I fix it? A little ghost must be inside???? Thank you.

There is probably a secondary backup battery which is now low, so it beeps so you can replace it. Check for a small door/opening that can house one of those flat batteries.

It must surely have another small battery inside it somewhere, perhaps as a back-up for the memory.

Open it up and have a good look around.
