My question, what is wrong with someone like that???.shouldn't they have left well enough alone when you answered the first time??? i think so...give me your opinion...it is like they are badgering me!!!

You should tell your boss that it is for personal reasons and that you do not wish to discuss your personal business with them. Assure your boss that it has nothing to do with work and that it will not affect your performance.

That's not great behavior for a boss! Once you said you were uncomfortable, the subject should have been dropped - unless it pertained to business. But you say it was personal, so there should have been no further discussion.

Some people are bull headed. They won't take NO for an answer. Your boss may feel that they have the right to ask you whatever they want. They'll eventually find out in HR that it is not true.

Your boss is a busybody who is using his position of authority over you to try to intimidate you in to letting him interfere in your life. Next time, say "That question crosses the professional boundary and I choose not to answer it." If he persists, tell him "This line of questioning makes me uncomfortable and could be construed as harrassment." That should shut him up.
