Why not look at an atlas? Those brown bits with white tops are mountains. There are more of them in western USA than there are in the east. While you are looking at the atlas, you will notice that North America is a large continent in the western and northern hemispheres while Australia is a large continent in the southern and eastern hemispheres.

You wanted to know an answer for your homeworks - that sounds ok, although you should be able to make them on your own.
But why did you ask this question in the AUSTRALIA section instead in the AMERICA one?
