Son-in-law is scheduled to go to MCRD-SD, is his wife entitled to BHA or any pay while he is at boot camp. I do not think so, when I went in mid 70's they were not. Have looked at www.marines.mil and searched pubs, could not find anything.

his wife is entitled to NOTHING. it is HIS pay, not hers. If he chooses to have it sent to an account s he has access to, then fine.

Marines do not get paid until the end of Boot Camp in any event..

My husband has been in the Marines for 12 years now and things could have changed during that time, but he was not able to receive any of his pay during bootcamp and therefore could not send any or set up an allotment for me and our son. I had to sign a waiver stating that I would be financially independent from him during boot camp and could handle all of our bills. They only thing I received was a military ID so I could access Tricare (well, it was CHAMPUS then). Tell him to talk to his recruiter or you can ask some questions on www.marine-corps-spouses.com and see if someone there knows. I believe there is one member that is the wife of a recruiter. Take care and good luck finding an answer.

While I joined the Army, it is different, so i cannot give you a correct answer. But maybe lead you in the right direction.
While they are married, he is entitled to support his wife, therefore she can go after him if he doesn't send some money home.
While you are not in the military officially until after graduating Basic Training, I do not know if he gets BHA or any other funding while he's in Basic. I do know he gets extra pay for his spouse and that money is to support her.

yes. BAH set by cost of living at their home, and seperation pay (about 200/mo). Get the paperwork done in advance to carry with him. They'll get the pay, but if things are messed up he won't have time to fix it & it might be a good while before it gets corrected & any back payments show up.

I would think so, but tell her not to count on it. My husban left for three months for some training and they "messed up" his pay a lot! We almost lost our house and are now playing catch up. Good luck to her,.

Yes, she is entitled to housing allowance. It should be about $500 a month.
