Well, tough guy, go get yourself a Pit Bull....but be a responsible person & be prepared to train this dog---& I mean spend at least 6 months working with this dog every day, around other dogs, in an obedience class, because they are tough terriers, low to the ground, heavy & muscular----& that's what makes them dangerous---they are physically difficult to control. It's immature & irresponsible to not train these types of dogs.

Well be sure to teach your dog to be mean only when necessary. I hear too many stories of dogs being put down by counties because they are agressive. That being said, a pit bull, bull terrier, or maybe even a doberman. I love labs, but they are too friendly for you :)

Why would you want a dog with a high level of aggression? An aggressive dog does keep out intruders, but can also turn on you.

How about extra-large? An English Mastiff, as I am finding out, is completely protective. I just got one Friday and she won't let anyone or anything near me. Terribly sweet.
I have a black lab that everyone is scared of, but she will just jump on you and lick or play-bite.

Golden Retriever. He's great if trained right. He will be a guard dog and a friend. They shed but if you brush them enough they don't. They also love to be outside and around people.

German Shepherd, or Yellow lab. Labs can become very protective of their family. My lab is very scary if people come into our house without being invited in.
