what are you talking about? Washes off taste? Wash taste off the food? Wash taste out of your mouth?

Two hints come to mind that may be related with what you're kind of asking.
Water is a "bi-polar" molecule which means it as a charge.
Also, you can think "dilution".

PS... do your own research, but I've given you a couple clues.

I've never heard of that... I've heard of drinking water between foods to cleanse the pallate. But it doenst wash off the taste.

not only do you need to do your own research....water doesn't generally wash off taste.
