Yes, but Im not completely sure how... I have really thick hair too, so when I go to the hairdressers I have layers put in which helps, and if you ask them they can thin it out a bit by running the scissors through them (not quite sure how it works, but if you mention that you want to thin out your hair to the hairdressers, they should be able to do wonders!)
Good Luck!

I am not sure how this works on very curly hair, but a barber/hairdresser can thin and shape your hair with a razor type pair of shears - a friend had it done when she cut her hair really really short. I am not sure what the procedure/cut is exactly , sorry, but you could ask a a decent salon and they should be able to help. This might only work with a short cut however.

You might also want to try a gel product designed for curly hair that will give you more control over the puffiness or if you can afford it, the Japanese straightening process works really well. Another friend tried that and it worked perfectly - she had stick straight hair. It needs to be re-done but it does last a long time

just go to your hair salon that you trust and know and ask them to thin your hair out.
its basically giving you layers everywhere.
if you have curly hair and you want it strait, get a good straitener that doesnt fry your hair, with a ceramic tile. dont be fooled by the metal ones with ceramic paint on it. it will burn off and fry your hair.
ceramic ones tend to cost more money though.
you can also get your hair straited at a salon. by an iron or kind of like a perm only... the oppisite. sometimes its called a japanese straitening. depending where you go.
you should really go to a salon you trust with your hair. some places will just make your hair worse.

I had a friend who had very thick hair. You should see a stylist. Try to find one who is good with your hair texture. They can take some of the bulk out of your hair with a good style that fits your features. If you see someone with hair that you like ask them who does their hair.

yeah. its possible. it doesnt even cost that much. its like part of the hair cut. just go to a salon and be like i want it thinned. its not very healthy for your hair because they're cuttin the bottom layers all the way off. but it'll look ALOT thinner!!!!!

yep. u can get it done at almost any place that cuts hair. u just ask them to thin ur hair out. they use thinning shears i think theyre called. it just takes out small strips of ur hair so it not noticeable except that its thinner. i no a bunch of ppl that have gotten it done. no big deal. good luck :-)

You can get your hair thinned, they'll use a very sharp knife and take some hair and gently cut down with the knife. So yes, it's possible :)
