First thing you should do.. (assuming they are still open) is call the pound or vector control (We have 2 seperate organizations, that don't work together.. so here I have to call both) then normally, they will tell you to call the local paper ... most found ads are free. Put up fliers/posters around the area you found the dog.. and bring it to the vets in the nearby communities.. they may even check for a microchip.. Going door to door in that area is a good idea as well.

Post on the lost/found part of craigslist.com and post in the lost/found part of your local paper. Also call the humane society. If someone lost their dog that would be 1 of the 1st places they'd call.

post an ad on Craiglist, contact local shelters and also contact local vets in your area. If the pet has an owner, I'm sure they will searching for them too.

I just posted a question today on what do you do if you lost a dog.
Look at the answers and see what everyone would do if they lost their dog. You can use those ideas as well to help post this dog - just in reverse!

Petfinder.org. Your local SPCA and Humane Society. Take her to a vet and have her scanned to see if she has been microchipped. Put flyers up in all the local pet stores. Good luck!!

Put up fliers around your neighborhood and also at gas stations and especially pet stores. You could also advertise in your local news paper. Good Luck!

Check with you vet to see if he/she can scan for a chip. I found a Harlequin great Dane once while hiking (no collar) and I took her home and called our area's ASPCA. They were aware of her absence and told me where she lived. They even knew that she slipped her collar often.

make a lot poster and take a picture of the dog and put it on the posters and hang them up and pass them out to people you know or don't know.that is the best way or you can just keep the dog if you want to or if your parents let you.it is your choice.
