What would be a "good" way to ask a guy to a dance? Guys- how would you want to be asked? Ladies- Any ideas?

Sorry! Thought you were asking how to ask a guy to dance. Oh well! Here was my answer. Maybe it will come in handy later if you don't muster to confidence to ask the guy to the dance ahead of time.
Silently and all in one gliding move come up beside him, run your finger gently down his arm, lightly take his hand, look him in the eye and ease him out onto the dance floor with you.
If you see that he's attracted to you, you may want to throw in a sultry comment like, "If you're lucky, this could become our song."

OMG. As hard as it is, ask him in person. When you ask him, ask him as if you are asking him to get french fries with you at McDonald's... as if "it would be cool if you would", but like it's not the scarriest, most major thing ever. He will feel unthreatened by your cool demeanor. I know it's hard to get the guy alone in a hallway at school, but just walk up to him when he's at his locker. Say, "hey, (guy's name), how's your day going?". Listen to his answer. Tell him about your test or whatever about your day so far. Then ask him if he's planning on going to the dance. He'll say yes or no, and kind of que you. Even if he says he thinks it could be lame, ask him if he would want to go with you. No matter what he says, you'll be glad you asked him. Believe me, the last thing you want is for him to not go with you because you were too scared to ask him and some other girl asked him first. Then, when he says "yes", tell him "that will be cool" and then leave to go to your next class. Just be cool - and know that this is how guys feel ALL THE TIME since they are the ones who have to ask girls out 90% of the time. Good luck!
