One of my pet peeves is phony soldiers. Besides asking the basics (BUD/s class info, teams & ops, favorite drinking establishment, etc) there is a group trying to out the fakers. VeriSEAL has a database that includes most operators. If you have enough information they may be able to help you out. They also have a database of known impostors.

Ask him to tell you where his most difficult mission was. If he tells you, he's lying. SEALS missions are all classified and often times they're inserted with a knowledge of the layout of the region but no knowledge of the ACTUAL location

You can't really. Military records are not public and unless you have averifiably legitimate need for the information, it could be tough to get.

Simple. Ask him one question: Did you do BUDS at the Creek or the Bay? If he doesn't know what you are talking about, then walk away from the phony.
