I was eating at a sandwich place and I had roast beef on my sandwich and it turned my bread a pinkish/reddish color in some spots and it had some reddish pinkish juice on my cheese and I was just wondering if it was just the juice from the roast beef or was it like...someone's blood on there?

I am 19 years old and I suffer from hypochondria and a phobia of HIV. I am worried that this red stuff is blood from someone infected with HIV and that now I have it.

Is there something to worry with?

Please help me out!

It's juice from the roast beef. For future reference, if this kind of stuff grosses you out or if the sandwich isn't to your liking, take it back to the cook. They can stick the beef in the microwave to cook it more so it doesn't bleed on your bun. And if you think it is someone else's blood, take the sandwich back and demand a new one. You do not have eat something you find gross.

No. This is nothing to worry about.
If you roast a cut of beef and slice it fresh, some juices, which will be pinkish to reddish to brownish, will escape the meat and you will see it on the rest of your sandwich. All this means is you got a cut of very fresh beef, that was not processed in any way.
Incidentally, it is impossible to catch HIV even if someone with HIV did bleed onto your sandwich. The virus survives a very, very short amount of time outside the human body, and the oxygen in the air is sufficient to kill it. So even if someone bled onto your sandwich (which I know is gross no matter what), by the time it came to you and you ate it the virus would be dead. So you have nothing to worry about, and continue to enjoy your roast beef sandiwches!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it was blood from the cow, not a person. I know it sounds crazy, but most likely it's from the cow. Don't worry so much. You miss out on the great things in life when you're too busy worrying. It's not good for you.
