I don't think you really have a say so because it's not your daughter.
What logical doctor would prescribe Prozac for a child that young anyway?

I don't agree that it is none of your business. If the child has been examined by a professional physician and medication was prescribed then the child probably exhibits just cause for treatment. If the child has not seen a doctor and the medication is being given without a prescription specific for that child then you are right to be concerned and should file a report with Department of Children and Family Services.

I have no clue why she would put her child on this drug or even why a doctor would prescribe it. These types of medications are not really suitable for children, teens, or young adults and have been the cause of suicides in these populations. I don't know how to tell her because it sounds like she wants a quick fix for some behavioral problems. If you can talk to her without her getting upset, I would ask her why and see if you can try talking to her of other alternatives. If you can't talk to her, I would nonchalantly leave any literature of the side effects and complications to young people who take this drug around on a table or somewhere in her house where she can read it. Or send literature through the mail to her anonymously.

No, a 5 year old on Prozac.....she hasn't even had a chance to grow a personality yet! Maybe the mom needs the Prozac or she is taking too much of it already.
