Christians believe that any for of Witchcraft is Satan luring them into sin. So their conclusion is that Witches must be pawns for the devil. Which according to the Bible, they are. But Christians say that Wiccans don't know they are being tempted into sin. It also has to do with how many movies portray witches. Such as in Hocus Pocus where the witches do all their bidding for the Devil.

My witch friends tend to talk more about dragons or faeries or daggers and earth and energy and the goddess and so on. It wouldn't occur to me to think the devil is involved at all, and we have a lot of fun playing volleyball and talking about Norse and Celtic mythology and Harry Potter and such. They've been scarred beyond the ability to believe the Christian version of reality is true. Spiritually all I want to do is love them as best I can and appreciate the diversity as a good influence for my kids. I love them very much.

Greetings!

I don`t remember Jesus saying that! Of course, many Christian groups make up their own rules, just like many Witch groups, so chalk it up to Human Nature.

What I do know, is that people around the World still celebrate in the Way that they have for thousands of years, even after the Christian Armies come through, kill everyone who won`t "convert"-the people just have to agree to change the Names of the Gods.

The Names change, everything else remains the same-it`s a Pagan World.

Even in the Vatican. Easter, Water into Wine, the Flesh of the Gods, etc.

the rational comes from the multiple examples throughout the old testament. in ever case of external worship, that being worship of everything/anything outside of God, is of Satan. While many Christians are blatantly misinformed, the premise they are ill-educatedly attempting to cite is that worship of anything other than God is clearly of Satan, this incluces money, power, the dead. So its is essentially irrelavent if the Wiccan follower believes in the Devil or not, as it is still worship of something outside of God. Hope this helps. Its a bit of a touchy area because largely those who invoke this statement to a Wiccan does not offer up scripture to substantiate their claim.

First of all, I'm not catholic but why do you place them outside of Christians when they are also Christians? Secondly, I don't know much about Witches but I do know that they don't worship our Christian God. If they were not against God, they would be with God, and since there is only God and Satan, who does that leave? I also know that as one who knows God, Witchcraft has no power over me.

Speaking as a Christian (but not speaking for all Christians), I have read where witchcraft and mediums should be avoided. I didn't read where it is Satanic, but God warned His people about contacting spirits through a medium. King Saul did not listen to God, he consulted a medium to contact the prophet Samuel from the grave. God caused Saul to die a less than honorable death.

Well to answer your question according to the Bible if you do not follow God you are a son (or daughter) of Satan. Even if you don't proclaim to worship or even believe in him yourself. I am a Christan an I am aware that there are many people with all different beliefs that do not believe in the devil, including but not limited to Wiccans (sp?), Satanist, and Atheist. But according to the word of God they are all followers of the devil. Please understand I am not passing judgment I am only answering your question

There are even sects of Christianity that consider anybody outside of their own sect to be "devil worshipers" in one way or another. So there's no point in showing logic to a mentality like that.

Though it also upsets me when Wiccans think they have a monopoly on the term "witch".

What tawaen said.

That being said, Christians who think that gods other than theirs are the devil are preaching something, but it's not anything from the Bible....

I suggest that what they are preaching does begin with a B, however.

They do that out of ignorance and to prevent people from being interested in wicca or witchcraft.
