12 YEARS ISN'T MUCH.It depends upon compatibility...don't lose your sense of humor! It smooths a lot of things over....

Spoil each other and give each other everything they want...you will be happy if you do.

My husband was 19 years older then I and he was very good to me in so many ways...He has passed away but I am in my seventies. (i have heard the 70s are the new 50s)

I think it's ok and if the roles were reversed i would think an older lady could do the same even though there is more of a stigma still for the older women/younger guy. After the age of 25 i think the age gaps become much less and do not matter as much. if you are 15+ years older then it might be too much but it depends also on the maturity of the people. Everyone ages differently.

As long as she's over 18 it's up to the two of you whether the age gap is too much. You can ask her out and let her make the decision about whether she wants to go out with you or not. Good luck!

Perfect age difference. Don't let those who are jealous dissuade you. Love knows no boundaries. It happens for reasons I have never fully figured out.
Of course as a former professor, no age is appropriate. I never did give in to temptation and go out with a student.
when someone tels you they will do "anything" for a grade, and I say "anything"?and they say , you heard me with a smile, that is tempting. But I also saw a colleague or two get into big trouble over it. Better you should have never been Born than to dally with students of any kind.

I'm guessing that the age gap is too much. You might want to wait until you get a signal that she is really interested in you.

Why not? You can only ask. My dad has married a lady alost 30 years his elder. They work just fine. My sister in law married a man 13 years her elder and they are doing gret. Age doesn't mean anything, it the combination of 2 people. Be brave.

Nothing wrong with asking, but I'm 25 and I wouldn't go out with a 37 year old man. We would have no interests in common. What would we talk about? But then, some young women don't mind just being a tropy on an older man's arm.

if you talk to her and the two of you can relate, then go for it. although, when I was young 20s I was interested in a guy who was early 40s until he started talking about things he did 20 yrs ago, and I realized he was an adult when I was born. Some women don't mind though. You'll never know until you talk to her

The age gap is not too much, not at your ages. It's more a matter of common interests, chemistry, compatible personalities.

I think thats perfectly acceptable. There would only really be a problem if she was under age. My parents are 20 years apart and they've been married for almost 25 years!
