Before you snack, drink water. Then wait for 20 minutes. If you still feel like snacking, then eat a hard boiled egg or a small piece of cheese or a 1/4 cup of nuts. Dr. Abravanel's Body Type System suggest that people who crave sweets would benefit from eating a protein instead of a carb to decrease their cravings. http://www.bodytypes.com/ (The book is The Body Type Diet).

Continue eating snacks, but also reduce the size of your meals. The key is smaller portions. This will increase your metabolism and help you get through the winter months. Bring healthy snacks for both morning and afternoon. Bring something like a 100 Calorie pack; they have cookie versions of that, and that will help your sweet tooth while keeping your calories in check.

The best thing to do is have breakfast. Porridge oats is the best. The reason is that oats are quite filling and also release energy slowly making you less peckish during the day.

Also what about a fruitbowl with a variety of fruits and nuts (not to many as they are quite fattening) and other snacks such as ricecakes.

make pre made meals, eat the meals at the same time, drink more water, and have more healthy snacks (like a protein shake, cottage cheese, deli slices, string cheese)
