I'm cape verdian and dominican and I come from a family of many different races. I was raised not to see "color" or be very judgmental towards people of a different race. Anyway My girlfriend is a latina (puertorican) she says that her parents like me but sometimes I get the feeling that they would "love" me if i was puertorican! What should I do?

Interracial marriages and relationships are the same as same race relationships. Providing the two people are compatable and love one and other with respect and non-judgemental attitutes then all is good. As far as how your girlfriends parents appear to be treat you at times, why not ask them directly. They will certainly appreciate you being mature and open minded enough to approach them. Also it may be just your imagination that they are viewing you this way, and by asking them directly they should be honest with you. Best of luck.

The concept of "race" is really antiquated to me. All the races were mixed a long time ago. Realistically, who cares if the parents love you, they're not the ones you need to care about. You shouldn't do anything but treat your woman right.

It's not a matter of "believing" in interracial relationships because they DO exist.

If you are asking if we think they are okay, my answer is yes...of course. We're all part of the HUMAN race after all...right? People should be with whomever they are attracted to, color of skin or cultural background shouldn't be an issue.

Eh, screw that, you can't always live up to your gf/bf's parent's expectations. Just continue to be a gentleman and show that you treat their daughter right and they should come around with time and see that you're making her happy and that's all that should matter.
I was dating a Brazilian guy (I'm black) and he even told me that his parents would have preferred I'd been a blonde haired blue eyed girl...like what does that have to do with anything? I just continued to be who I was and was just polite, can't do nothing about that.

i do believe in interacial relationships...my boyfriend was indian, and they are very strict when it comes to dating other races seeing as most of them have arranged marragies. well when his parents found out that we were dating, they kinda flipped out, and didn't want us talking to eachother anymore...if you really and truely love her, than you shouldn't worry about what race or color you are...as long as you love each other...good luck with your relationship!

I believe that you should love whomever you want to. And you should date whoever you are attracted to.

P.S. Puerto Rican is not a race, Puerto rico is not even a country for gods sake

You should continue to be yourself!

You did not make it sound like it bothers your girlfriend. I believe love has no color.
