That is just recruiter bullshit. Don't make friends until you get out of M.O.S. school..

Military Buddy Program

The buddy Program is not only a way for you to go away more comfortyable (with your friend), but is'a also a way for you to make some extra cash. See for every person YOU get to join, you make 2000 bucks. 1000, when they enlist and the other thousand when they complete bootcamp.
The Army does this so you'll be more inclined to drag somebody along with you, into battle...
What the "Buddy Program" is, is a program where you and your buddy can go (if you pick the same job) be stationed together, and stay together like for fights and team stuff. Sometimes they lie and seperate you anyway's so look into it before making any decisions.

And if you know someone who want's to join, tell them to say you gave them that idea and score that 2000 bucks, 1000 for you and 1000 for him/her. I mean if they are joining anyway then make some extra cash off it.
Hope this helps. Check Military.com

Yes there is a buddy program in the military, the main problem of it is, if you both go to a service school and he doesn't make the cut, you're stuck. I had that happen to a friend of mine he wound up going to paratrooper school and the other guy failed out! Also you are committed for the entire enlistment without you buddy.
Give it some real thought!

The buddy program is a system to allow two individuals to choose orders to the same command. Basically, you'd enlist on the same date, go to boot camp together, then your first command will allow you both to serve there. After that, I believe you must renew a buddy program contract, but I'm not sure.

It means if you have a friend who is ALSO in the same branch of the military, you can request a "buddy assignment" that will (hopefully...it's not a guarantee) get you both assigned to the same base together. I did it once many years ago with a friend when we went overseas. It really made the transition easier.

That is correct. It is called the buddy program. They do their best to have you stationed in the same places. It is never a guarantee though. A good friend of mine got me to join the Navy (10 years ago) and we were never stationed together. We were in boot camp at the same time though.

I have never been a member of HM forces ( I do not know if I'm sad or glad" but the ols soldiers always told me that when I was called up ( I missed it by 2 years) to get myself two bloody good mates and stick to them through thick and thin. Two ding what was needed and the other covering your back ie minding your kit or making sure you did not get caught out

As a recruiter, in the past buddies sign up and they go through training and assignments together.
