I agree 100%. It is nothing but outright bribery. If you are unwilling to convert, they will not help you. Missionaries are some of the most two faces people on the planet. They hide their continuing destruction of native cultures behind the excuse that they want to help people. If they really wanted to help others they would do it regardless of the faith of the people who are suffering. It is sickening.

For the people who gave me a thumbs down on my answer, I would like you to honestly answer this questions for me. If as a missionary, who sees spreading the word as their ultimate mission, you go to one of these remote tribes and give them aid in an effort to help ease suffering and after say two years of preaching about god, no one has converted would you stay or move on to another area? Exactly! It might not be a written policy, but it is the policy of missionaries, regardless of wither they wish to admit it. If it isn't bribery, why do you not just go their with your bible and preach? Is it because you need the food to get them to listen to you? And that would be called what?

As a Christian, I support the missionaries who go to teach people the Bible, but at the same time they do try to help people. It is not a matter of just getting numbers for the organisation, but a genuine love of God and for people. Whenever there is a disaster, you will find that JW's are already there before the other charities and they not only help in a physical way but a spiritual way as well.

I have served as a missionary, and that is the dumbest comment I have read yet. That is just completely untrue. No missionary I've ever met including myself has ever held food over anyone's head so they will "convert". I've known missionaries who helped a tribe which believed in many Gods to build a totem pole to those Gods, because they knew that would be the best way to create a relationship with them. I myseld gave out food on the streets of Moscow to anyone who wanted it. Don't talk about things you know nothing about.

I don't support conversion.

I do support people helping others and trying to make the world a better place, whether they are doing it as a response to God's love or not.

witholding help because someone won't convert is very anti-spiritual in my opinion. in the The Good Samaritan story, the Samaritan never even brings up religion when helping the person on the road. He doesn't care that he is someone he's "supposed to" shun. That is a good example of what i believe we need to emulate.

I support missionaries.

We also support some refuge families in our community. They aren't all Christians.

...'they give food only for Christians...' - name the group. If this is true, it needs to be challenged.

Some may, I cant speak for all, those that we susport give to all equaly. However using your logic, think about it. You go to the other side of the world to help people. all some want is what you can give them, others welcome you. Now which group are you most ready to help? as far as that goes, have you helped anyone? or do you just like to complain about the ones who do? Would it have been better to have let them all die?

i do not support misionaries, i dont even really support the kind of aid being given to those in need, yes we need to provide them with food, but we should make them trade their reproductability (become sterile) if they want to be supported by someone else so that way the problem isnt worsened.

it may sound bad, but i think if its my tax dollars / somebody elses donation feeding them, it would be legitamate to ask that in return. those places like that in africa are nothing more than human infestations (to many people not enough resources) and i think everybody has a right to reproduce, UNTIL they need my help to survive.

I think this is unfair of you because you are generalizing, some may well do this but the majority really have good intentions in their hearts, many work under terrible conditions and risk life and limb.

It is disgusting that people will go to Nepal and tell people lies. They tell these people to believe what they tell them to believe or they will go to "hell".
