My friend took 10 of them, and I think she should go to the ER to make sure she's ok. But she says she's fine, so I was wondering how much of it is lethal or how much of it does someone have to take to be harmed? I'm just worried about her

It takes a lot to do consistent, major damage, and the numbers are not well worked out. A larger concern is GI bleeding, and there's no consistency in the rate of bleeding compared to the dosage taken. 2 grams is a dose that's likely to cause a little bellyache, but in healthy people it's unlikely to do much more on a one-time basis. On an acute basis, it's best to consult Poison Control, and in most of the US they can be reached at 1-800-222-1222.

Unless your friend weighs less a lot less than 100 pounds, 10 is not a lethal dose. I have to take 8 (200 mg tablets) sometimes, just to get an effect (but I am a 'big' guy).

That's one good thing about Ibuprophen -- the lethal dose is waay above the theraputic dose.

Aceteminophen -- that's another story. If your friend had taken 10 of those, call 911.
