This is not a political question, mainly a medium-range one but it does involve Congressional Office aspirations.

Don't underestimate the wombat.

They may be cute, amiable, short and stocky - but they have a tough rear end and can burrow like the blazes. Whilst wombats are generally slow movers; they can run quickly if required. Their best form of defense though is when they are in their burrow. Here if they are cornered they can crush their would be predator/attacker underground using a large solid plate in their backside against the roof of their burrow.

The roo had better watch out - if their timing is not right they are likely to end up crushed.

I love wombats but they are too friggin' cute to win a fight with something that could knock Mike Tyson in two seconds.
