Wow , I am more concern with when he will be home other than money, or how my children will react in case we both deploy... the SGLI has been raised to 400k , however if your name isnt on the policy you get nothing.
I pray nothing happens to your Soldier !!!
Armywife & Soldier
EDIT for Joannie:: There are talks of not having both parents deploy at the same time , however it has NOT been passed , we are dual military that is why you MUST have a family Care plan in the even both parties are deployed and have minor children!!!! IF the statement you made was true explain to me why my husband Deployed while I was in AIT? Explain why many of our dual military friends had to send their kids to stay with family while they both deployed.
This question has nothing to do with Dual Military being deployed at the same time.

Depending on what SGLI the soldier elected to take, and how he split it up, its possible to get up to 450K. 400K in insurance benefits and a one time payment of 50K to the next of kin. Coming home is better than any amount of money though.

SGLI is currently $400,00, and there is also Family SGLI, which is $150,00... If both parents are in the military, they cannot both be deployed at the same time. One of the parents has to stay with the children. My neighbor is a widowed man, and is non-deployable because he has to stay and take care of his children.
