Anyone who answers this would have to be bold enough to think they would know what God thinks.

I'm not going there.

You mean like, to kill a person who was about to kill 20 people? That's a tough debate. If god existed, in the sense Christians tend to believe, then he would already have mapped out the greater good, and the person in question's fate would already be decided. Right?

No,killing is absolutly wrong,no matter what the situation ,even a police officer that kills someone while on duty will have to face karmic law.

Killing anyone or "sentient being" (i.e. animals, insects, etc.) isn't virtuous, so there is no "greater good". Compassion and common sense dictates that one must treat all beings with compassion and altruism. Only someone who understands "emptiness" and altruism completely and wholly can determine if someone or something needs to die, and how.... takes a lot more training than I'll have in this life. Doing so otherwise is simply non-virtuous, ego-attached behavior.

of course, this is like the question about our soldiers having to adhere to "thou shalt not kill" or "murder" whatever you believe.

If killing a few will save the lives of many, i am fine with it.

I like that one "my daddy says people just need a good killing" or however that was said, it was brilliant.

And whats a little killing when we are faced with overpopulation?????????
