i travel 3 hours to work every day and start 40 mins earlier than everyone in my office unpaid! Is it fair I get wrong for taking 15 mins extra on my break as i was unwell.

Simple - only go to work if you are completely fit. Then only start work at your due time, take breaks at the right time, and finish ON TIME!

Most employers take extra work for granted, yet they don't consider this when you want to redress the balance.

It is estimated that if someone works an average of 20 min each day for nothing then in a standard year they will have given their employer some 4800 mins or 80 hours (two weeks) for no more pay. This is equivalent to a pay cut of 5%.

On the other point, people DO have to travel to work, so don't use this as a bargaining tool, you will only be offered the directions to the nearest exit!

Why would you start so early if you arent paid for it? As long as your boss is aware that you are giving him all his uncompensated time every day, I'm sure he wont object to a little extra time on a break for illness.
