Ok, being on YA I have seen alot of bashing from both sides. Believers & Nonbelievers both! So no one get offended please! Do you think perhaps when we(christians) are trying to debate or argue our side that it just doesn't come out right or that some of us are too harsh or perhaps even quick to judge? Ultimately God wants us to LOVE, thats His greatest commandment, and sometimes I dont see love on here. If you are like me you want to try to convince people that there is a God and that he wants them to submit their lives to him. And you hope to change a few peoples beliefs, but are we by chance pushing them farther away??? Anyone feel like trying to convince someone only makes them turn father away? Just a thought!
Please think about it next time you answer a question or post a question. Is it going to help or hurt the situation that is at hand. In all things walk in LOVE!!

Just a note:
I Corinthians 13:3-7, 13
LOVE suffers long, and is kind; LOVE envys not, LOVE does not push itself forward, and is not proud;
Does not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, and is not easily provoked, thinks no evil;
Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth
It bears all thing, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things...
And now abides faith, hope, LOVE, these three; but the greatest of these is LOVE!!!!
Proverbs 15
1 A gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger.
2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge,
but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.
3 The eyes of the LORD are everywhere,
keeping watch on the wicked and the good.
4 The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life,
but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.

Unfortunately, it is easy to be "human" and react. Various people are at different walks in life with Christ and as such will react differently as well.
I'm not excusing the behavior but offering up an explanation. As a group, someone should call those on the carpet in a nudging way so that they get the idea.
I've seen too many Christians do more harm than good. Before hitting "SEND" a good idea is to think what kind of testimony the message/actions are sending.
At the same time, when you see Christian "leaders" making public comments where you are smacking your head and saying "please shut up now!" - think about the many who are not thinking that and will follow their lead.

I agree with you in most parts..... but, and this is what stops me from agreeing 100% with you, is Jesus himself, used scripture to answer, and that is how it is supposed to be, what we are ONLY comissioned to use...... That is why we are NOT to argue or debate, *faith* is NOT debatable..... The Bible tells us that those who are NOT of God will NOT understand, live by, know the word, because they can NOT...... when ask a question I will respnd with an answer, I will NOT argue a point nor my faith...... We are mocked no matter how or what we answer, and that is how is foretold in Gods word...... I will NOT compromise my faith or beliefs for any man, woman or child, just so they can feel better about what they believe...... that is NOT what a Christian is or does !!!!!! I will NOT pat a person on the back who mocks God, and tell them it will be ok...... It will NOT be ok, unless God steps in and makes that change...... to WALK in true love, Christian love is to give Gods word, as in the Bible, to the person who is walking the unlighted path, is it not ??? Did Jesus bow down to the sin of man ?? Did Jesus say, *you are forgiven* without telling them his Fathers words ???? I hear and see people write all the time about how we should strive to be more like Jesus..... that is impossible to do !!! Jesus was the Son of God, his purpose was far from what our purpose was and is...... I can NOT do what Jesus came to do..... Not even close !!!!!! I am here to fellowship with and worship God, and to spread his word...... Yes, love comes into it...... but, the word of God is the sword, NOT love..... I am never harsh, or I try NOT to be, but I will use my sword when and at all times....... No apologies given ...... I only speak with those God sends to me, if they come to me, that means they are ready to listen and understand, not just *hear* some words spoken....... go in peace...... God bless

Kimber,
What a wonderful comment in your question. I agree that a Christian must be truthful (Annie) and not compromise his/her true belief of GOD'S WORD. I also believe that we should not be pushing those who are not mature Christians so hard on this site. I have always been open to discussion and I will study with others in helping them to learn GOD'S WORD. I am a Christian and have been for over twenty years. My wife and I became Christians together at that time. We have three children. Two of them are Christians and one is married to a Christian. We are so Blessed! I want to thank GOD for everything that HE has given my family and I at this time! Have a wonderful week.
Thank YOU,
Eds

Actually, dear one, I haven't seen Christians bash anyone. I have seen them, however, speak the truth many times. And sometimes the truth seems harsh because some of it IS. But that isn't bashing.
Most of the bashing comes from those who are trying to deny the Truth. That doesn't change it, however. It is still Truth, whether or not some believe it.
God bless!

I think you could say some of the same things about the way Jesus responded to criticism. He often was very direct in his words. Being a Christian and expressing love, doesn't mean you can't be direct and to the point, even if it might seem harsh? Think about it, the message is accept Christ and live eternally, reject Him and die. I think that's pretty harsh, but it is the message.

they are actually not Jews because of the fact Jew's do no longer believe the messiah has come yet. they do no longer believe Jesus so believing in Jesus and asserting your Jewish needless to say contradicts one yet another.... this is unhappy that there are those Evangelist Christians that decision themselves "Jews". quit this custom now, your disgracing the two Judaism and Christianity.

Love is not love without truth (1 Corinthians 13).
Some call it "hate" simply to say what the Bible says. Are you suggesting that true Christians not state the truth of the Bible?
Do what you want, and in doing so, don't tell everyone else what to do.
