Ever sense MTV bought out CMT I have noticed some changes in there programming. I don't watch CMT often, but the old CMT never played shows about Dallas cowboy cheerleaders... and shows about average woman wanting to look like they did in high school. Am I the only one that smells MTV all over this? Has anyone else noticed?
MTV is the king of crap tv... and sadly is buying out the competition and turning it into yet another station with worthless mind numbing viewing pleasure.

MTV didn't buy out CMT...it was actually created by MTV back in 1985 as an outlet for country music.

The CMT management was semi-autonomous until recently (when they got marching orders from 1775 Broadway to start with the reality crud).

Well...for country videos, there's Great American Country (GAC) owned by Scripps Networks (diy Network,Food Network,HGTV) and CMT's own digital cable/satellite sister channel CMT Pure (which is all music videos and live performance stuff...and NOTHING ELSE).

I didnt know MTV had bought CMT but now that you mention it, it sure seems like you're right. I personally get disgusted by what is supposed to be country videos, but feature women looking like street walkers......It's no wonder kids values are so messed up !!

Umm, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is better than anything CMT ever had or ever gonna have. 'Cept maybe some Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson stuff.

I noticed it, music is now ususally the last thing on any Music television stations now. Complain to the show, start a blog or email the cable co.
