Above the law meaning that the law does not apply to us.

Under the law, meaning that the law applies to us more than another person.

I have found that this is the case. If a Mormon gets caught doing something remotely suspect, he is accused, tried and convicted and sentenced by both his peers in church and in court before the evidence is even heard.

No real legitimate trial, just the addage that if you're mormon and you're suspected of something, you must be guilty without question.

Just ask Colbert. He knows all about accusing, trying and convicting someone without any evidence to substantiate his claims.

I imagine you are referring to the law of Moses, in which case the answer is no. The law of Moses was fulfilled by Christ.

If you are referring to the law of the land, then the answer is yes; we are not above the law.

No, we are not under the law, no more than any other Christian.

We ARE, however, under the commandments of Christ.
